No preference for me, once i learnt why most people aren't as confident on right handers that is!

Apparently, it's because on a right hand bend, you get closer to the kerb/tree/wall on the outer side of the road, before you turn in, and it's easy to get target fixation, and that makes you want to turn in earlier

The thing is to look through the bend (look where you are going) and not at the wall etc and you gain more space, and don't worry about running into the wall, or turning in too early, risking "rubbing shoulders" with the HGV comming the other way.

Now go practice

I love left handers , because you go right alot because of roundabouts, also English tracks are clockwise , so it becomes more of a challenge on the lefts .there's loads(lefts) where i live and enjoy them more because of the challenge of doing them better than the rights .

Re: right handers or left handers?

Anyone know 'Fish Hill' on the A44 at Broadway Worcs (Cotswolds) - ace peice of sporting tarmac if you're ever in the area, couple of nice rights and two wicked wicked lefthanders that I actually want to get married to.
If you ride it though, go up it once 'all sensible like' then go back to the bottom and ride up it again properly - the babylon have occassional purges there, specially in summer.
Cant get the part of the map I want - see here : http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.sr...9500&ay=237500
Be very specially careful on the way down though. ride it straight and slow x

You need to get a key from the visitor centre just to open a gate to this road and it's private. It is however the twistiest piece of tarmac I know in the UK, trouble is they're not overly biker friendly. maps below show location and detail.
Any better ones out there?

I can see it from my bedroom window and yes the lefts are to die for! (although most years a couple people do exactly that!)

77 percent prefer left handers. thats quite conclusive, and i'd imagine at least the same amount are right handed... so there does seem to be some right handed weird not liking right hander thing going on.
ps went into a right hander today following a gsxr 1000 k6 and i **** it, put the breaks on and nearly went over the hedge. i just lost it. left handers no prob righters bit of a prob. so ive decided its the late evening roundabout TT for me.

I'm a bit of a late evening roundabout TT man myself rikok.
Was just wondering if those who live on the continent (where they drive on the wrong/right side of the road) would have opposite findings to us lot ????

Was Fish Hill the set a corners we encountered going up a hill to Bourton on the Water during the Ducatisti meet last winter

If it was, all I can add is that Harriebird was to quick for me

ive said this on the chicken strips thread but right handers afford a better view of the road assuming you resist the temptation to turn in too early. To achieve the same observable limits on a left hander one usually has to cross the centre line to maintain visibility (not crossing over for a quick peek-that way, death lay)..
i used to feel more confident on rights, but these days i feel just as happy either way, although the limit point is almost always reduced on lefts.

Don't ask me, I'm still going round (the) bend. It's a left hander, though.

That'll be right handers for me.

Having said that, I've thought a couple of times lately that I may be just a tad too near that white line on the apex and leaning a smidge too close to that oncoming traffic. Hmmm - must revise lines a bit methinks. Strange tho'...I'm not sure I experienced this feeling in pre-duke days.

Actually - what I really really like is a sequence of rh lh rh lh etc etc - that's wot gets me laughing out loud inside me lid.
