Remember my first bike FS1E. Got both my knees down , both my elbows and most of my back. Only done 17 miles. Those were the days.

1 inch

Not sure but if you want o buy knee sliders for that authentic knee down touch you can, i kid you not!
Paivi where is that link
Failing that who cares for road riding as long as im happy with the inch burn mark on then i have riden it well, in fact i got to Worcester yesterday to find Mr MV augusta alreay in knee down position on entry round the biker roundabout, sadly i did observe it didnt happen though so to hell with it why worry about it.
Sorry to dissapoint you Mr MV so no telling your mates in the boozer it was a blast and that knee was a scraping like a good un, felt like spreading butter on your toast, woooooooooooooooooooo im the man!
To become a man you need to get another 12 inches lower, but made me smile non the less

About 300 yards on a friends GSXR 1000 just to show him it was was possible. Was there any point? Not really but it certainly wound him up

How much then?

Oh f*ck it, i may as well throw this one in as Mr Ebay is cashing in.
I have just purchased some of Nogaromills sliders for the IOM GP next week , so i will be wearing them.
I can then sell them to the highest bidder as genuine Manx GP sliders as worn this year, completely unscuffed and signed by me and limited edition (1 pair).
What cash am i looking at, or if you contact me before i can scuff then falling out of some boozer but that will cost extra

Bike: 996, 1098.

You dont have to rev it to touch down fella. Think i was doing about 4-4500 rpm and change up at 6000. The 1098 has loads of ummph anywere in the rev range that as soon as you open the throttle it pulls so just keep throwing gears at it. From memory when i had my 999 the engine was a bit different, it did pull low down but had a more defined power band as it were where thing really got moving above 7000 rpm. Did tickle mine up to 7000 rpm a couple of times and it really did move. Cant wait till i can go a bit higher.

Going up to 6000 rpm till the first service about 650 miles then will just gradually increase the revs over the 4-500 miles abit at a time, Seemed to work ok the last time i ran a engine in from new. You dont want to labour it by not having enough revs but not hold it to long at to high revs either for long time. That what i'm planning on doing. How have others done it.

Don't think I will ever get my knee down as my legs are so short But as long as I can get round the corners - am I bovvered?
I don't have chicken strips though; more like chicken breasts and that does bovver me.

Got as far as Limogee, think I got my knees down, but landed head first in some bushes, thankfully a soft landing.

4000 miles on my older 750ss and ive never had my knee down.
insecurity due to 2 reasons:
as you lean more and more, the weight of the bike disappears and i feel like im going to drop;
as you lean beyond your comfort zone, the road suddenly jumps (it always does) and the bikes skips, thats scary too!

Never had my knee down, caught the outside of my boot a couple of times on round abouts though.
TBH I don't care if I never get my knee down, I dont wear sliders so if I do it could be a bit painful!

Also too bloody stiff to hang off the side of the bike!
