Hi,
I think Dave101 has listened and learned here, a bikesafe course is a very good place to start!
Trying to run before you can walk often ends in tears and even if it doesn't, it will spoil the enjoyment of motorcycling.
One of the guys suggested finding some mates with similar abilities or some that won't try to push you out of your depth......This's very good advice! It also stands well for riders of all levels of ability.

You might want to consider this

TCT :: Two Wheel Confidence Training. I know it says it is MCN, but it's actually run by California Superbike School.

It is not track based, but is done off road and can offer help to new riders and those wanting to improve skills and confidence.
I did it earlier this year and it really helped with my speed round corners at both high and low speeds.

My next step is CSS.
