900supersport engine interchangability

Can someone point me in the right direction to find a list of bikes whose engines will fit a '93 900ss ?

would be handy in case I ever see anything for sale that would be a good doner for spares

Well any of the air cooled 2 valve engines will physically fit.....and things like the 600, 750 SS and Monsters share the same engine and carbs....when it starts getting fiddly is when you start putting injected engines into carb's chassis, as the harnesses are different.

So I guess bangin' a 748 engine in is going to be a wee bit tricky!.....

Has to have been an act of love to put an older design, less powerful engine into a later frame/bike. Especially considering the complications. I agree it looks great , though

I dunno, a 1000 (or 1100) DS engine would probably 'pep up' a 748, don't know about BHP but surely more torque & less weight.
