Best Tent & Camping Gear for Biking?

We, thats me and the missus 2 up one bike,
(I cannot get her to get her own,she reckons she doesnt have the concetration!),
have a Vango sigma 300+ 3 berth, Coleman fusion vario sleeping bags, self inflating camping mat, cooking kit and a coleman stove, I have packed it all on the bike but not gone out on the road yet (it was ****ing down), due to go to Ireland in June. It'l be my first attempt at camping for about 20 years, I gave up after those disasters, if it turns out as bad as those days I will be dumping the camping gear and doing the 4star route as well!

Well we tried the kit out at the BMF show, not on the bike though, we planned to buy and bought too much gear to bring back on the bike so took a car.

Incidentally saw a couple on a bike all loaded up and the pillion was holding two bagged helmets one each side, just wedged against her hips no strings or ties

Everything worked, really impressed with the coleman stove. Do need to get a small nonstick frying pan though, I do like a bit of bacon in the morning with my cuppa and those lightweight aluminium pans (rectangular so easier to pack) would be a b1tch to get clean after frying anything!

The air temp was really cold Saturday and Sunday, with a "lazy" wind, one of those thats too lazy to go round so just goes straight through! But once inside the tent and in the sleeping bags = snug as a bug!

I don't think you can quite stand-up in it, but with a stoop I don't think you'd have to crawl in and out.

Following our recent touring hols, I think that the entrance needs some form of cover, eg the type that the door can be suspended above the entrance so when cooking in inclement weather you can sit in the entrance cook and stay dry!
Our tent doesn't have that option the door unzips across to one side.
