Nice pics there mate!

The only prob with touring Italy on a bike is where to put all the goodies you inevitably want to buy!

How much was the San Gimignano self-catering and where did you find it?

Thanks Paivi,

The San Gimignano (SandInMeJimJams) self catering was through AgriTourismo:
Profile Tuscany San Gimignano

770 euros for the week, expensive but very luxurious!
Only problem the 1.5km farm track from the road to the accomodation!
There was enough room for the salami, wine, cheese, olive oil Pan Forte etc etc. If only we could bring the ice cream back!
Adam.

Make sure you go via Austria and the "Grossglockner HochAlpenStrasse" absolutely superb road:
Großglockner Hochalpenstraße - Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse

You get a map and guide and a really cool little sticker. Many of the cafes and viewpoints have bikes only parking areas. Highly recommended. Of course we had perfect weather...
From the south of the pass its a quick dash across the border to Italy and the Dolomites, more superb roads, hotels and cafes everywhere with "bikers welcome" signs...

Adam.
