Nurnburgring

7 of us are going Hull to Zebrugge with p&o en route to the ring in Germany, anyone had any probs.

Just fitted a DP gel seat so dont want it to get knackered first trip out, so will take a strap & pad. Also anything i need to watch for apart from riding on the other side(do i need a hi viz jacket etc).

Any help appreciated as we have all not been abroad as S.Ireland does,nt count

Ta

There is a strict 100db noise limit at the Ring. if you are over, you won't be allowed to play.

When are you going Blackie?

I have a trip planned for Friday 1st August, spending the weekend at the Ring and coming back on the Monday! And I'm a Nurburgring virgin!

The Ring

I did the Ring for the first time in April. Just hope it stays dry as you don't want to go out there in the wet. After you've been round you'll see what I mean.
Its an awsome, almost emotional experience. 13 miles of twist / turns and blind bends. Spectators wave at you from the grandstands - its great. Rossi for a day !
The concentration levels are immense as at this time of year it'll be very busy. I went into a bend a little to quick, dropped to 2nd gear and let the clutch out a bit quick as I was running out of road. Back end went twitchy and so did mine. You cant afford to crash your bike as its your transport to get home - so with that fact lingering in the back of my mind I was probably over cautious - but I lived to tell the tale. Its an experience that has to be done at least once. Oh yeah and all of the old wives tales are true !

Not just that statement if you f***up you are responsible for trackdowntime i.e lost revenue. You are bound by German traffic law also as on public days it is not a race track but a public one way toll road.

Peops will pass you like you have stopped just be in awe of them as they have been going many years. Don't try and keep up stay in your comfort zone.

Then you will come home on your bike to your families.

Is there a game for the PS3 that has an accurate Nurburgring on it?

Yes Grand Tourismo 4, but I tried it several times before I went and it meant nothing, just could not get on with it.

I did 25 laps of the ring one weekend, major expense, Then when I put the game in on my return home it all drops into place and very accurate also.
