Exclamation Attention - Road Closures Aug/Sept CH/IT

For anyone touring the Swiss / Italian high alpine passes in late summer / autumn you may want to take a note of the following closures. These 3 glourious high alpine passes are all part of a growing trend to closure a pass for the day (or part of) to all motor vehicles to allow cyclists a free fun run at the pass.

See individual web sites for actual times of closure on the day and which sections are affected:

30.August - Stilfserjoch / Umbrail / Stelviopass IT Stelviobike Südtirol

07.September - Albulapass CH slowUp (Note: This site will also show you the dates of road closures in the Swiss lowlands for motorized traffic free days)

20.September - Sustenpass CH FreiPass: Susten 2008

-ooo0ooo-

For anyone touring CH over the next two weeks (till Aug 9) the weather forecast is lots of lovely sunny days with intermittent thunder storms.

Have fun - Stay safe
