Question Factory Visit

I am hoping to visit the Ducati factory at the end of the month. Does any one have any contact details for the factory and hotels etc. Or even possible routes from Calais etc. Thanks guys.

I would check that it's open before anything else - August is Holiday time in Italy, it would not surprise me if they were closed for the month.

brynbedw Hi,

Factory visits etc, see this link.

As far as a route is concerned, we came back from Bologna, via Aosta Valley, Mont Blanc Tunnel, Dijon etc and found it a pretty good one.

I went out that way last autumn. It was a good route, especially if you took the time to go off the Motorways.

I dont have the details here, but stayed at a good hotel in Bologna. It was in a park area just off the ringroad. Parking was discrete and you could walk downtown

If you can get a factory visit, let me know and I will send you the details. You must book the visit in advance BTW, they wont let you in on spec.

Be aware that the timing on the day is something of a moving feast though.

Oh and it's closed till 3rd Sept.

I'm sure the factory is closed in August. It was open last August for a guided tour albeit with nobody working but it looks like they aren't even opening this August. And of course the museum above the factory so you probably can't get in there either.

Might be worth giving them a call.

Check it out ;

It makes me think of being shown round the factory by a young Aussie guy who took great pride in lifting a plastic sheet to show us a brand new bike that looked just like a 1098, but had a wet clutch and black belly pan. That was just before an Italian took his head off with some colourful phrases I didn't quite catch.

There were only 14, 848's in existence at this time and we were looking at them all, it wasn't launched to the public until a full 9 months after this.
