Bike: ST4s - "Pavarotti"

Exclamation Greetings -Update

Hi Ducatisti
Well matters have been moving swiftly on the bike front and the situation changed rapidly on Monday.

The current situation is that a new ECU is expected to arrive tomorrow (Weds) and be transplanted into Pavarotti. I will then be able to make the 2 Boats target for Thursday lunch. Weather is looking very good for Thursday. Q: what time does the pub open and shut at lunchtime - anyone - Ghost????

Should the ECU not arrive tomorrow it looks like Pavarotti will be wintering in Blighty this year and I will be on an areoplane instead of a Ducati back to Switzerland this week!!!

I will confirm on this thread Wedsnesday early evening if ECU fitted and Pavarotti and I mobile for the 2 Boats. I truly hope so.

Thank goodness for that Northworthy. I was getting concerned for your wellbeing.

Hopefully everything will be fine with your bike and we can go ahead with the meet-up on Thurday.

Ecu?

Hi Northworthy, I must have missed something, what's up with Pavarotti's ECU?

last 48 hrs have been very dramatic -Ducati Bologna confirm parts have left Italy by courier and should arrive tomorrow. Have to say that everyone in the chain: Italia Moto Lincoln - Ducati UK and the Factory are pulling all the stops out to ensure that we make the 2 Boats and Pavarotti does not winter in Blighty this year.

Pavarotti had passed all his medicals (plus some additional anti hostile incoming to evade enemy activities) - however as an extra precautionary measure against me being forced down in foreign airspace Air Commador Phil decided at 09:01hrs monday morning (after a 15 minute meeting with Flight Pilot Officer Northworthy) that he wanted to ensure that I didn't have to "ditch" over enemy airspace on Friday before I found a friendly airfield.

Hence new ECU being fitted as a precautionairy measure. Better 2 parachutes than one!!

Steve and Everyone
I am really hoping that my 11:00hrs debriefing tomorow declares Pavarotti "airworthy" and landing rights secured for the 2 Boats on Thursday. Will give feedback as soon as I have that update. Till tomorrow chaps.

I've just spoken to manageress at 'The Two Boats' they are open from 12.00 till 24.00 but only cook from 12.00 till 14.30 - ie, last orders for food taken at 14.30, but you have to be in the pub and seated by 14.30.
They have (and I quote) 'no problem' with a few gentlemen turning up on Ducati motorcycles to dine there.
Wish I could come

Many thanks for the food info - I'll need it!
Dam shame you will not be there - but there's always another day.

Bacon butties - that's a super offer, but I cannot head west as I have a ferry I cannot miss if Pavarotti and I are mobile laster today.

-ooo0ooo-

In two hours from now I'll phone the Italia at 11:00hrs and I am hoping it is good news - otherwise landing and refuelling at the 2 Boats will not happen for pavarotti and I. Here's praying for good news.

Well Lissa and I are now booked off work tomorrow so if the run with Northworthy is cancelled, maybe those who are still able and willing would like to get FREE bacon butties.

Would almost be rude not to.
