Decided to take my mutch loved Senna on what was to be its final serious ride out, the plan was to ride to Monza for the WSB round then to visit the Ducati factory, finally returning to not so sunny Weymouth.
Things started of badly, Lashing rain as we boarded the ferry from Weymouth, once on board things got worce the not so cearfull chap who strapped down our bikes managed to dig the corner of his ratchet strap into my L/h Faring pannel, When we got to our seats the tannoy informed us we where in for a verry rough crossing, and sure enough the breakfast from the ferry terminal made a re apperance, 2 bags full.
On reaching France the sun came out, and cheered up some verry green pasengers, however some two hundred miles into our trip the noise from my engine that i had put down to a bit of piston slap was getting more pronounced, Still the bike kept running and we enjoyed some fantastic superbike action and a brilliant factory tour, My mate Ritcie who organised our trip was a bit put out when he was told he was not allowed to park his ZX10 on the factory car park and they pinted round the corner, As we headed home my engine was getting allarmingly noisey and some four hundred miles from San marlow it locked up.
Before our trip i had a lightend flywheel fitted to try to get a bit more pickup out of corners, the local bike shop that fitted it for me had failed to torque up the alternator nut, Mangled mess in the cassings and some verry bent valves, Engine is off to two four italia for a complete re build courtesy of the bike shops insurers, had orderd a 1098 before my trip so im enjoying that while the Senna's fixed.
