there must be someone on the forum with the same pipes as you who's been niose checked, but at Brands the testing is done by sticking a probe at the mouth of one can and taking it to 5,500.
Thinking about it, a 749 may be ok - the S4Rs with a full system was 105-106 at 4,500 revs (glove over the rev counter...) and the 748 was 101 from memory - 45mm pipes and cored standard cans.

Mine's 54mm assymetric but it's LOUD! Side by side with a 999 with 57mm full system mine was louder. Presumably it needs repacked.

haha, yes, that might be a problem then!
I got Mark Hill to do some custom adjustable baffes for asboR. I haven't had them noise tested yet, but they only lose 2-3bhp at the top end.

I haven't seen them for the **9 though, awkward shape i suppose! I'll look into repacking them, how hard can it be?

nope - custom. When the bike was being built, Sean (ducati race support) sent my cans to him, he did the maths and hand-made the baffles to fit. There's no reason the same can't be done for any shape.

Mark Hill Performance and a hundred and twenty quid. It's not cheap (good dinner/2 tanks of super unleaded), but they're custom made and like I said, only lose 2-3bhp (1.5%) at the top. I looked at off the shelf, but I had no idea if they'd fit the cans, what performance loss they'd incur, or what dbs they'd get down to. No-one could tell me. These are adjustable, so I can start with a little deadening and move up to full to suit the track.
IMHO, there's no point buying an expensive system (I know what mine cost and it wasn't pretty) and killing the performace gain with some badly made kit.

Cheers Jerry but for that money I'm inclined to refit the old can if needs be as this is my first time on track. If I'm addicted (as I suspect I might well be) I'll reconsider! Adjustable db killers is a new one on me, very swish!
