It aint no Ducati but it delivers the goods. And build quality is outstanding......NO reports yet of misted clocks, recalls over sprockets, dodgy batteries etc.

but loads about dodgy gearboxes! .... I would prefer a misty dash over a dodgy gearbox any day! (and the misty dash dissapears when you use the bike regularly, so anyone with a misty dash is not riding enough!)

The RC8 uses exactly the same gearbox as the Super Duke - and it clearly isn't up to the extra cubes. Early bikes have had the odd part changed for beefier items - but I would expect a bit of redesign for the next model. KTM are very good at listening to their customers and fixing all the little niggles - they did the same with the 07 Super Duke over the 05/06.

That is exactly what the magazines are saying. Wait about 18months, then order one and the niggles should be sorted.

So a new, less angular face, a different colour scheme, a new gearbox and less coarse delivery from the engine in 18 months time? I can't wait!
Is it any wonder the Japanese can win this game? KTM see Ducati twins cleaning up on sales have a brainwave and throw a bike into product development, erm I mean offer it for sale to gullible public.

Well, as somebody who ownes one of those Ducatis who people with white sticks and guide dogs keep telling us are ugly, I've kept quite on this one until now but I have to say that I do agree with you Royum. Infact the RC8 even rivals the Super Duke when it comes to that particular nightmare.....
